Every project begins before the object: in reading the face, the way a person wears eyewear and what they wish to express without having to explain.
The initial conversation can happen in person in Rio de Janeiro or by video call. The following steps are defined individually with Miguel.
Facial study
Observing proportions, nasal bridge, distance between the eyes, brow line, temples, ears and overall balance.
Design and selection
Defining shape, dimensions, thickness, acetate, color and details together.
Handcrafting
Cutting, forming, refining, polishing, assembling and finishing the frame with individual attention at every stage. The entire process is carried out entirely by hand, with no use of CNC.
Fitting and refinement
Adjusting support, tilt, opening and curves for comfort, stability and visual balance.

What is the difference between bespoke and conventional eyewear?
A conventional frame begins from predefined shapes and sizes. A bespoke frame is made for one specific person, considering facial proportions, use, comfort, material choices and individual expression.
How long does the process take?
The timeline is shared after the initial conversation and depends on the characteristics of each project.
Can I begin by video call?
Yes. The initial conversation can also happen by video call. The following stages are arranged individually with Miguel.
Does Zabo make optical and sun frames?
Yes. Frames can be created for optical or sun use, always with design and proportion decisions made case by case.
Are lenses included?
Yes. Every frame comes with a pair of solar lenses or a pair of 1.56 single-vision lenses. Multifocal or thinner single-vision lenses can be quoted separately.
Can I choose materials and colors?
Yes. Material, color, thickness and details are discussed with Miguel during the design and selection stage.
What brand are the lenses?
For sun lenses we use only Zeiss CR39. For optical lenses, we work with Zeiss, Essilor, Hoya and Rodenstock.
